  2. WRITING TOPICS

    1. Describe the most important achievement in your life. What did you do? Why was it important to you?
    How has it changed your life?

    2. What are the best and worst memories you have of your elementary school days?

    3. What I would do if I inherited a million dollars. (Explain what you will do with the money, what effect it would have on the way you live, what effect it would have on your personality, how it will change or affect your friends’ attitudes toward you, etc..)

    4. Rich problems and poor problems. Discuss the problems that money can solve and those that money cannot solve.

    5. Write an advertisement for a place you know well. Your ad should make tourist go there for a vacation.

    6. Describe a terrible experience you once had. (Try to include some element of suspense to arouse the curiosity of the reader).

    7. You are a reporter for the local newspaper and you have been asked to write an article about a car accident, a train accident or a plane crash a few miles from town. Include short interviews with people who survived the crash and observers in the area of the crash.

    8. Write a short letter to friend about something that happened to you that made you feel especially happy, proud, annoyed, or anxious, afraid.

    9. Write about a place you would like to disappear to and what you would do there.

  3. LETTER / ARTICLE WRITING

    1. Write a letter to a company requesting for the supply of goods or merchandise to your store. Tell the supplier the reason for requesting such goods:- particular demand, quality, cost, and availability of goods at any time.
    Also state the location of your store and the competition in the area.

    2. Write a letter to the company acknowledging the receipt of the goods they supplied you and thank them for their services. Express your desire to have the pleasure of working with them in the future.

    3. Write an application to a company applying for a job as secretary, accountant, or a salesman. State in details your academic qualification, experience in the job (if any), and places where you have worked before. Also give references of two important people as your guarantors.

    4. You are a tour guide and you are offering a tour package for tourist to visit different places in your country. Write the itinerary of the trip and the kind of offers in the package.

    5. There is volcanic eruption in a part of the country and you have been sent there by a newspaper to report on the situation and the effect on the people in the proximity of the eruption. Write a complete story about everything you saw there. Create suspense to arouse the curiosity of readers.
